titleOfInvention Azepinoindole derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R<1> is H, 2-6C alkyl or 2-6C acyl; R<2> is H or 1-3C alkyl; compound wherein both R<1> and R<2> are H is omitted). EXAMPLE:5-Ethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-1H-azepino[5,4,3-cd]indole. USE:Having diuretic action, heart suppressing action, relaxing action on smooth muscle and sleep prolonging action, useful as a remedy for circulatory diseases, remedy for alimentary diseases and psychotropic agent. PREPARATION:A 4-cyanoindole derivative shown by formula II is hydrolyzed with a base such as triton B and subjected to ring closure to produce a compound shown by formula III. Then this compound is reduced with a reducing agent such as lithium aluminum hydride. The starting raw material shown by formula II is produced by reacting a compound shown by formula IV with a nitroalkane, hydrogenating and reducing the reaction product.
