titleOfInvention Surface-treating agent for inorganic filler
abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the dispersibility and filling ratio of a filler in mixing this filler with a resin, to shorten the mixing time and to improve the mechanical properties of the obtained resin composition, by using a specified phosphorus compound as a surface-treating agent for an inorganic filler. CONSTITUTION:A phosphorus compound of the formula (wherein R is a 1-24C alkyl or alkenyl, A is a 2-4C alkylene, M is a cation of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an amine such as a 1-4C alkylamine or an alkanolamine, n is 0-6, m is 1 or 2, p is the ionic valence of M and is 1 or 2), e.g., metal stearyl phosphate, is used as a surface-treating agent for an inorganic filler (e.g., talc, clay, silica or calcium carbonate) for resins. The obtained surface-treated inorganic filler is homogeneously dispersed in a resin such as PE, PP, PVC or PS in a high filling ratio within a short time to obtain a resin composition excellent in mechanical properties.
