titleOfInvention Artificial muscle formed by connecting electromagnets
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a rapid reaction speed, by connecting a large number of electromagnets and controlling the magnetic forces thereof individually by a current and stretching and contracting the length of the whole. CONSTITUTION:This artificial muscle is one constituted so as to be stretched and contracted by the magnetic force of an electromagnet. A copper wire coil 2 is wound around an iron core 1 to form the electromagnet. A groove 3 is formed to the iron core 1 and a joint 4 is connected to the groove 3. The distance between the iron core 1 and the adjacent iron core 5 and the distance 7 of the play of the groove 3 are made almost the same to each other. The copper coils 2 is wound around the iron core so that the adjacent opposed iron cores become an N-pole and an S-pole and the coils are connected by a cord B to which play is provided. A large number of the electromagnets are connected and pull-rods 9 are protruded from one end and other end of the connected one so as to pull the connected one from both ends. A large number of the electromagnets are connected so that the stretching and contraction of the length of the connected whole body become large even when the change in the length of an individual body is small.
