titleOfInvention Production of prepreg
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a prepreg, having high impact resistance and interlaminar shear strength when formed into composite materials and useful as advanced composite materials, by applying fine particles made form a polymer as a material to one surface of the prepreg consisting of reinforcing fibers and a base polymer. CONSTITUTION:(A) Fine particles made from a polymer as a material are applied to one or both surfaces of a prepared consisting of (A) reinforcing fibers consisting of filaments and (C) a base polymer to afford the aimed prepreg. Furthermore, either or both of a thermoplastic polymer (e.g. polyamide) and thermosetting polymer (e.g. epoxy polymer) are preferably used as the component (A) and carbon or graphite fibers are preferably used as the component (B). The thermosetting polymer or a blend thereof with a thermoplastic resin is preferably used as the component (C).
