titleOfInvention | Production of pyrroloquinolinequinone |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently produce pyrroloquinolinequinone useful as a coenzyme by a fermentation method, by cultivating a specific bacterium belonging to the genus Oligomonas in a methanol-containing culture medium. n CONSTITUTION: A Gram-negative bacterium Oligomonas.methanolica 0-3 (FERM- P No.9280), Oligomonas.methanolica 0-75 (FERM P-No.9281) or Oligomonas.methanolica 0-100 (FERM P-No.9282), capable of growing and propagating under alkaline condition and assimilating methanol only as a carbon source and producing pyrroloquinolinequinone is cultivated in a culture medium containing ≤6wt.%, preferably ≤3wt.% methanol, a carbon source other than methanol, nitrogen source, inorganic substances, etc., at 20W42°C, preferably 25W40°C and pH 7W10, preferably pH 7.5W9.5 while keeping the dissolved oxygen concentration at 0.5W20ppm to isolate the aimed pyrroloquinolinequinone from the resultant culture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
