titleOfInvention Highly heat-conductive rubber/plastic composition
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition lowly abrasive, excellent in flow, thermal conductivity, etc., and low in fin formation, by filling a rubber/plastic composition with an alumina mixture comprising alumina particles of specified properties and corundum particles. CONSTITUTION:1-20wt.% alumina particles (A) of a mean particle diameter <=5mum are mixed with the balance of spherical corundum particles (B) of a max. particle diameter of a single particle <=150mum and a mean particle diameter >=10mum and having a shape free of cutting eges. A rubber/plastic composition (e.g., phenolic novolak epoxy resin or silicone rubber) is filled with the obtained alumina to obtain the purpose highly heat-conductive rubber/plastic composition. The obtained highly heat-conductive plastic composition can be suitably used as an insulating sealing material, a peripheral material for heat-dissipating spacers, etc.
