abstract | PURPOSE:To supply a sufficient filtrate to an electrode so that measurement with high accuracy is enabled by subjecting a sample liquid to pressure filtration. CONSTITUTION:Blood is dropped as the sample liquid onto a porous body 8. A pressurizing device 11 is thereafter placed on a holding frame 9 and force is exerted on the device 11 from above to below. A bellows part 13 of the device 11 is then shrunk and the pressure is exerted downward on the blood so that the blood is passed through the porous body 8 and is filtered by a filter membrane 7. The filtrate from which large solid contents such as red blood cells in the blood are removed arrives at an oxidation-reduction enzyme layer 5 at this time. A reaction is effected among the three; the glucose in the blood, the potassium ferricyanide dissolved from the inside of the porous body 8 and the potassium ferrocyanide in the enzyme layer 5. The potassium ferrocyanide formed by the enzyme reaction is oxidized by the electrode system. The concn. of glucose is measured by this oxidation current quantity. |
