titleOfInvention Polyolefin composition of improved stability
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title polyolefin composition remarkably improved in yellowing during a long-term storage, degradation upon heating or melting and stability or resistance to corrosion of metal, etc., by adding five specified additives to a polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is formed by adding pentaerythritol diphosphite (A) of the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each an aryl), tetrakis(2,4- di-tert-butylphenyl)4,4'-biphenylene diphosphite (B), an ester (C) of 3-(3',5'-di-tert- butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid, a metal salt (D) of a fatty acid and a hydrotalcite (E) to a polyolefin. This composition is remarkably improved in color stability, heat stability and noncorrosiveness and its improving effect is marked when applied to, especially, a polyolefin produced by a process without deashing.
