titleOfInvention Production of powder fire extinguishing agent
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a powdery fire extinguishing chemical having excellent releasing performance, flowing performance and wet preventing performance by adding an amorphous silicon dioxide to a main starting material formed of ammonium primary phosphate or/and ammonium sulfate. CONSTITUTION: Ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium sulfate are used as main starting materials, and amorphous silicon dioxide is added thereto followed by pulverization. Zinc methylhydropolysiloxane octylate and a very small amount of pigment are added to trichloroethane used as solvent, and the resulting mixture is put into a mixer. The internal temperature of the mixer is raised to thermally cure methyl hydropolysiloxane while continuing kneading under the presence of air. In this thermal curing, three-dimensional resinification of Si-H bonding in methylhydropolysiloxane, or conversion into Si-O bonding by oxidation of H atom by O2 in air is promoted by zinc octylate. Thus, a powdery fire extinguishing chemical excellent in releasing performance, flowing performance and wet preventing performance can be manufactured at a low temperature in a short time.
