titleOfInvention | Water absorbing polymer and production thereof |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a water absorbing polymer having excellent water absorbing performance both in an aqueous solution containing an electrolyte and an aqueous solution containing no electrolyte, by subjecting a (meth) acrylamide and a divinyl compound to suspension polymerization in a specific solvent. n CONSTITUTION: ≥80wt.% based on total amounts of monomers of acrylamide and/or methacrylamide and a divinyl compound (e.g. methylenebisacrylamide) are subjected to suspension polymerization in a solvent (e.g. methanol, acetone or dioxane) to dissolve raw material monomers but not a formed polymer in the presence of a polymerization catalyst preferably at 10W60°C to give a water absorbing polymer comprising a crosslinked copolymer having ≥80wt.% acrylamide unit and/or methacrylamide unit. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
