abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having insecticidal effects with hardly any toxicity, by using one or two or more kinds selected from organic chlorine compounds, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers and terpene based hydrocarbons together as a synergistic agent in an insect pest growth inhibitor. CONSTITUTION:An insecticidal synergistic composition obtained by using one or two or more kinds selected from the group of organic chlorine compounds, such as hexachloroacetone, alcohols, such as menthol, aldehydes, such as octylaldehyde, ketones, such as ethyl amyl ketone, and terpene based hydrocarbons, such as anethole, together as a synergistic agent in an insect pest growth inhibitor (e.g. chitin synthesis inhibitor or molting inhibitor) having various characteristics. This composition has a wide spectrum of object insect pest species and perfect insecticidal effects with hardly any toxicity to humans and animals and is effective against normal sanitary insect pests and agricultural and forestry insect pests.
