abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for skin treatment useful for improvement of quality and appearance of human skin after application at a topical portion, especially acceleration and progress of growth of hair on the scalp by including a specific hyaluronic acid fragment and a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: This composition for skin treatment comprises (A) 0.01-99wt.%, especially 0.1-20wt.% hyaluronic acid fragment containing 7-50 monosaccharide units, the ends of which are glucuronic acid units and/or N-acetylglucosamine units or unsaturated derivatives thereof of one or both end units and (B) 1-99.99wt.%, especially 80-99.9wt.% vehicle permissible as cosmetics, and further means (e.g. a stimulant of hair growth and a penetration enhancer) for progressing the activities concerning vessel-formation and/or hair growth response after applying on a topical portion.
