titleOfInvention | Active filler and production thereof |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain an active filler, by subjecting two or more kinds of different polymers to mixed spinning, dissolving and removing one or more kinds of soluble components from the fiber to obtain ultrafine fiber, winding the fiber around a core material consisting of a frame and immobilizing an enzyme, microorganism or microbial cell to the fiber. n CONSTITUTION: Two or more kinds of different polymers containing perfectly saponified polyvinyl alcohol are spun by mixed spinning to obtain a filament having a sea-and-island structure containing soluble fibrils and insoluble fibrils remaining ultrafine filaments having an average diameter of ≤1μm, preferably 0.1W0.5μm. A roving is produced by doubling preferably 3W10 said filaments and a tubular woven braid having an average diameter of 0.8W1.5mm is pro duced by weaving 8W20 said rovings. The braid is e.g. washed with water to dissolve the soluble fibrils and separate a filament into plural ultrafine fibers of insoluble fibrils. If necessary, the product is modified e.g. by aminoacetalization. The braid made of ultrafine fibrils is wound around a cylin drical frame having plural through-holes and an enzyme, etc., is immobilized to the braid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
