abstract PURPOSE: To obtain red printing excellent in preservability in raw state and having good hue, by containing a diazonium salt forming a blue color through the coupling with naphtol AS and a barbituric acid derivative and/or a cyclohexa-1,3-dione derivative. n CONSTITUTION: A diazonium salt forming a blue color through the coupling with naphtol AS and a barbituric acid derivative and/or a cyclohexa-1,3-dione derivative are contained in a red forming type diazo type thermal recording material. The above-mentioned diazo compound forms a blue color through the coupling with naphtol As and is represented by general formula ArN 2 + X - . As a compound forming a red dye through the coupling with the diazo compound (diazonium salt), the barbituric acid derivative and the cyclohexa-1,3-dione derivative are excellent from the aspect of raw preservability and hue and represented by formulae I, II (wherein R 1 WR 2 are hydrogen, a 20 or less C alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group or a carbonyl group). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
