titleOfInvention Production of olefin polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a polymer which requires no catalyst removal step, by (co)polymerizing an olefin by using a catalyst comprising a solid catalyst component containing a trivalent Ti compound solid catalyst obtained by a specified process and an organoaluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin is (co)polymerized by using a catalyst system comprising an organoaluminum compound and a solid catalyst component containing a trivalent obtained by treating a solid product, obtained by reducing a Ti compound of the formula (wherein R 1 is a 1W20C hydrocarbon group, X is a halogen and 0<n≤4) with an organomagnesium compound in the presence of a silica gel of a pore volume at a pore radius of 75W20,000Å ≥0.65ml/g, with a mixture of an ether compound with TiCl 4 . The catalytic activity of said catalyst system per transition metal is so high that it is possible to produce an olefin polymer which has a high bulk density, a low content of fine powders and a good flowability and from which catalyst residues need not be separated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
