titleOfInvention | Thermal recording material |
abstract | PURPOSE:To enhance developed color density and to obtain sufficient density even at the time of high speed recording, by coating the surfaces of fine particles of an inorg. or org. filler with leuco dye before using said dye. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing the color forming reaction between a leuco dye and a coupler, the surfaces of fine particles of an inorg. or org. filler are coated with the leuco dye before using said dye. As the inorg. or org. filler, a fine powder of calcium carbonate, silica or a polystyrene resin is designated. The filler is coated or covered with the leuco dye by adapting a powder coating method or a microencapsulating method. The leuco dye is used alone or as a mixture of two or more kinds and, for example, a triphenylmethane or fluorane type leuco compound is used. As the coupler, an electron acceptive substance allowing the leuco dye to form a color through reaction at the time of heating is adapted. The thermal recording material is prepared by applying a coating solution for forming such as paper, synthetic paper or a plastic film and drying the thermal layer formed and imparts highly developed color density and sufficient density even at the time of high speed recording. |
