abstract PURPOSE: To enable quick and easy washing of a guide pipe of an extruder and to facilitate the change-over of the grade of spun fiber, by using triethanolamine as a cleaning agent in the washing of degraded polyamide remaining in an extrusion-type melt-extruder. n CONSTITUTION: A polyamide is subjected to melt-spinning with an extrusion-type melt-extruder. The degraded polyamide remaining in the extruder is washed off by using triethanolamine as a cleaning agent. For example, triethanolamine is added to polymer pellets 2 in a hopper 1 at a rate of 0.5W5wt% based on the pellet 2 and the pellet is extruded by conventional melt-extrusion technique. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
