titleOfInvention Manufacture of automotive interior trim
abstract PURPOSE:To permit a resistance to shock and good appearance to be kept for a long period of time, by a method wherein a skin is released from a mold after foaming powder or plastisol, further, the skin is mounted on a foaming mold, synthetic resin material is poured into the foaming mold and the molded form of the same material is released from the mold after foaming and curing the same resin material. CONSTITUTION:Uncured skin 3 is molded by employing the powder of thermoplastic resin or the plastisol of the same in the molding part 2 of a slush mold 1 through slush molding. When powder or plastisol 7, blended with foaming agent, is sprayed from a nozzle 8 or coated on the upper surface 5 of an arm rest 4 and the part 6 of a shoulder pad, the powder or the plastisol receives heat from the skin 3 and is molten whereby is foamed. Then, the skin is mounted on a pair of upper and lower foaming molds 11 and synthetic resin material 12, such as hard urethane foam or the like, is cast into the back surface of the skin 2. After reactive curing, the skin 2 and the foamed synthetic resin material 12 are released from the molds whereby a door trim, equipped with the arm rest having cushioning property, may be manufactured.
