titleOfInvention Cell catching device
abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to catch a cell without damaging it, by setting a very small electrode in the interior of a capillary to seize a cell floating in a liquid and laying the opposite electrode in a chamber to store a cell suspen sion. n CONSTITUTION: A very small electrode 6 is set in the interior of a capillary 7 to catch a cell from a cell suspension in the interior of a chamber 2 and an electrode 5 is set in the chamber 2 is produced in a cell 8 when high-fre quency voltage is applied between both electrodes 5 and 6 and the cell migrates to the vicinity of a suction hole 11 of the capillary 7 by difference in intensity of electrical field. The diameter of the suction hole of the capillary 7 is several μm W several tens μm according to the size of the cell and negative pressure is applied to the other end of the capillary 7 and the cell coming near the capillary by the migration is sucked into the interior of the capillary 7. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
