abstract | PURPOSE:To form a corner part having excellent adhesion strength and excellent heat resistance at high temperatures, by a method wherein a crosslinkable-type ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) is charged into a corner part space formed by surface-treated end faces or notch end faces of a rubber made glass running channel or channels. CONSTITUTION:Before charging, the end faces 2 or the notch end faces 2' of a glass running channel member of members 1 are surface-treated. A notched part of the glass running channel member 1 is opened in conformity to the shape of a window frame, or two glass running channel members 1 are opposed to each other in conformity to the shape of th window frame, the member or members 1 are set in a metallic mold 10, and crosslinkable-type EVA is poured into the space part 3. The crosslinkable-type EVA is a mixture of EVA and a crosslinking adjuvant, which adjuvant is, for example, vinylmethoxysilane. After pouring, the resin is left to stand for three or more days at room temperature and one or more days in a hot and humid condition. In this treatment, a spontaneous crosslinking reaction takes place due to moisture in air, and the glass running channel is hardened. |
