abstract PURPOSE: To exactly discover a gestational toxicosis in an early period by using a measuring agent for measuring trehalase in urine. n CONSTITUTION: The activity of the gestational toxicosis patient's trehalase in urine extremely higher than the activity of the trehalase in urine of normal pregnancy. The gestational toxicosis can, therefore, be discovered in an early period by measuring the trehalase in urine. Materials which themselves are known as the measuring agent for trehalase are used as said measuring agent. More specifically, trehalose which is the substrate of the trehalase is used or an anti-trehalase antibody is used. The trehalase is decomposed to glucose 2 molecules when the trehalase is acted to the trehalose; therefore, the activity of the trehalase can be measured by measuring said glucose. A method such as Ouchterlong method, single immune diffusion method or radioimmuniassay method is used in the case of using the anti-trehalase antibody. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
