titleOfInvention Production of alcoholic compound by elimination of protecting group
abstract PURPOSE: To advantageously obtain the titled compound in high yield, by removing a specific protecting group, e.g. tetrahydropyranyl group, etc., from an ether compound having the above-mentioned protecting group in the presence of a distannoxane compound as a catalyst and solvent. n CONSTITUTION: A protecting group Z is eliminated from a compound expressed by the formula R 1 -O-Z (R 1 is organic group; Z is protecting group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted tetrahydropyranyl or trialkylsilyl) in the presence of a catalyst and solvent to produce a compound expressed by the formula R 1 -OH. In the process, a compound expressed by the formula [R is alkyl or phenyl; X and Y are halogen, OH, NCS or OR 4 (R 4 is alkyl or aryl)] is used as a catalyst at 1:0.001W1:0.1 molar ratio of the above-mentioned raw material to the catalyst to afford the aimed compound under mild and neutral condition in high yield using a very small amount of the catalyst with advantages to organic synthesis, particularly natural product synthesis without affecting other substituent groups. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
