abstract NEW MATERIAL:The α-tocopherol derivative of formula I (n is 2W10; A and B are H or together form a bond; when n is ≥2, A and B may be a combination of H and a bond). n EXAMPLE: α-Tocopheryl solanesylacetate. n USE: It exhibits extremely excellent antiulcer effect and is useful as a remedy for ulcer. It is administered preferably by oral administration or intramuscular injection. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula VI (R 1 is group of formula VII) which is one of the compounds of formula I can be produced by (1) reacting the halide of formula II with the dialkyl malonate of formula III in an alcohol in the presence of an alkali metal alcoholate, (2) hydrolyzing the reaction product with a alkali in an alcohol, (3) neutralizing with an acid, (4) decarbonating the product by heating under reduced pressure and (5) reacting the resultant acetic acid derivative of formula IV with α-tocopherol of formula V. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
