titleOfInvention 3,4-dichloro-6-trifluoromethyl-toluene derivative and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:2-Nitro-3,4-dichloro-6-trifluoromethyl-toluene shown by the formula. n USE: A drug, a raw material for drugs such as 2-methyl-3-amino-benzotrifluoride, etc., for agricultural chemicals and an intermediate raw material especially for anti-inflammatory analgesic. n PREPARATION: 3,4-Dichlorotoluene is reacted with CCl 4 in the presence of a halogenated aluminum to give 3,4-dichloro-6-trichloromethyl-toluene, which is reacted with HF to give 3,4-dichloro-6-trifluoromethyl-toluene in high yield. This compound is used as a raw material and nitrated with fuming sulfuric acid in the presence of 96W98% conc. sulfuric acid at 30W120°C for 2W5hr to give a compound shown by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
