abstract | PURPOSE: To easily obtain 1,1-difluorocyclohexane in high selectivity on an industrial scale, by reacting 1,1-bis(trifluoroacetoxy)cyclohexane with hydrogen fluoride. n CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I is made to react with hydrogen fluoride having water-content of usually ≤10wt%, preferably ≤3wt%, especially ≤1wt% at usually -76W+150°C for 5minW100hr, preferably at -40W+100°C for 5minW50hr preferably in the presence of an acid catalyst, especially trifluoroacetic acid to obtain the objective compound of formula II which has been difficult to be produced on an industrial scale because of severe reaction condition on the synthesis of fluorination reagent and the necessity of complicate recovery steps. The objective compound can be easily purified because the by-produced trifluoroacetic acid can be easily separated from the objective compound by conventional separation means such as distillation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
