abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cosmetic having improved a soft feeling on the skin and sliding properties in makeup and good finish state of cosmetic film, by blending a cosmetic with silica coated titanium oxide having a coated layer of amorphous silica on the particle surface of spherical titanium oxide. CONSTITUTION:A makeup cosmetic such as toilet powder, foundation, cheek rouge, eye shadow, lipstick, eye liner, mascara, eyebrow, etc., is blended with 1-70wt% calculated powder component of silica coated titanium oxide which has a coated layer of amorphous silica on the particle surface of spherical titanium oxide, preferably 0.5-50mu average particle diameter and 5-50wt% based on total amounts of the silica coated titanium oxide of the coated silica to give a cosmetic which has improved spread and extension to the skin in use, a soft feeling in use and improved natural finish state free from whiteness in cosmetic film. The cosmetic prevents caking phenomena in pressed cosmetic and is readily transferred to a matter to be applied.
