titleOfInvention Modified polyolefin and its production
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title polymer which is rich in reactivity with a vinyl monomer and can give a copolymer excellent in adhesiveness, compatibility, etc., by reacting a product obtained by reacting an active group-terminated polyolefin with a halogen with a specified dithiocarbamate. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin selected from among ethylene and α-olefins is polymerized in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst to obtain an active group-terminated polyolefin (A). Component A is reacted with a halogen (B) in an amount of 0.1W200mol per mol of the total amount of the metallic species of the catalyst component to obtain a halogen-terminated polyolefin. This polyolefin is reacted with a dithiocarbamate (C) of formula I (wherein R 1W2 are each H or a 1W20C hydrocarbyl group, M is a metallic element of Group IWII of the periodic table and n is the valence of M) at 100°C or below for 1W6hr to obtain a modified polyolefin having a weight-average MW of 1,000W1×10 7 and a content of dithiocarbamate groups of formula II or 10 -3 W10 -8 mol/g. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
