titleOfInvention Electrochromic display device
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled display device with little discoloration in color fading, outstanding in color development denseness, wide in allowance for applied voltage, by using, as the electrochromic layer material, a N,N'- diphenylbenzidine polymer prepared by electrolytic polymerization. n CONSTITUTION: For example, a solvent 7 containing supporting electrolyte is encapsulated, through an insulation spacer 6 made of e.g. Mylar(R), between (A) (i) a transparent display electrode 2 coated with an N,N'-diphenylbenzidine polymer 1, as electrochromic layer material, prepared by electrolytic polymerization plus (ii) a transparent base plate 3 supporting the electrode 2 and (B) a second base plate 5 provided with the facing electrode 4 followed by sealing with a seal 8, thus obtaining the objective display device. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
