titleOfInvention Resin composition
abstract PURPOSE:To provide a resin compsn. which gives molded products having excellent appearances and has excellent mechanical properties, moldability, dimesional accuracy and chemical resistance, by blending a resin compsn. consisting of a polyphenylene ether and an arom. polyester with a specified epoxy compd. CONSTITUTION:5-95 wt% polyphenylene ether (A) having an intrinsic vixcosity of 0.10-0.80 dl/g (in chloroform at 25 deg.C) composed of a repeating unit of formula I [wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each H, halogen, a (substd.) hydrocarbon group, cyano, an alkoxy, phenoxy or nitro] is blended with 5-95 wt% arom. polyester (B) having a reduced viscosity of 0.7-2.5, pref. 1.2-1.7 dl/g (in o- chlorophenol at 25 deg.C) to obtain a resin compsn. 100 pts.wt. said compsn. is blended with 0.05-30 pts.wt. epoxy compd. (C) of formula II [ wherein R5 and R6 are each a (substd.) alkylene or an alkylidene; R7, R8 and R9 are each H or methyl; R10, R11, R12, R13 and R14 are each H, halogen, a (substd.) hydrocarbon, an alkoxy, phenoxy or nitro; and m is 0-20].
