titleOfInvention Production of carboxylic acid vinyl ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtaining the titled compound by reacting a carboxylic acid with vinyl acetate in the presence of a palladium slat and a cupric salt, to prevent deterioration in catalytic activity, to keep the activity with a minimum amount and to improve yield advantageously, by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a specific compound. n CONSTITUTION: In reacting an aromatic or aliphatic carboxylic acid with vinyl acetate in the presence of extremely reduced amounts of a palladium salt and a cupric slat, a lithium halide and an alkali secondary phosphate or an alkali tertiary phosphate are added to the reaction mixture and the reaction is carried out at 70°C W the reflux temperature of the reaction mixture to give the aimed compound. Lithium chloride, etc., may be cited as the lithium halide and the amount of it used is about 1W2 millimol based on 1 mol raw material acid and the amount of the alkali secondary phosphate or tertiary phosphate used is preferably 0.01W0.3 mol. Palladium acetate is used as the palladium salt and the amount used is 0.01W0.03 mol% based on 1 mol raw material acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
