titleOfInvention Analysis of anion
abstract PURPOSE: To make exact analysis of anion at ≥7pH in the analysis of anion by anti-phase ion pair chromatography by adding an org. buffer agent having low salt formability to a moving phase to adjust the pH thereof. n CONSTITUTION: The moving phase is an aq. soln. of 6.0W10.0pH contg.; for example, 0.4mM trimesic acid as a UV absorptive eluent; for example, 1.0mM tetrabutyl ammonium hydroxide as counter ion and; for example, 0.5mM tris (hydroxymethyl)aminomethane as the org. buffer agent having the low salt formability. A non-polar fixed phase of; for example, ODS is used for the fixed phase. The decrease of the UV absorbancy of the eluate is measured and the anion is indirectly detected. The pH of the moving phase is thereby maintained constant and since the generation of a ghost peak is obviated, the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the anion which requires the liquid characteristic of ≥7pH and which is liable to be affected by carbon dioxide is exactly execut ed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
