titleOfInvention Composition for open-cellular olefin resin foam
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition which can give a foam having a fine cell diameter and high uniformity and excellent water absorptivity, air permeability and weathering resistance, and being soft and good in feeling, by mixing a specified olefin resin with a blowing agent and an α-olefin-modified surfactant. n CONSTITUTION: A composition for an olefin resin foam is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. olefin resin (A) of an MI of 5W30 (e.g., ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer) with 1W20pts.wt. blowing agent (B) having an initial decomposition temperature of 100W160°C which is higher than the m.p. of component A by 20W70°C and a final decomposition temperature of 150W210°C (e.g., azobisisobutyronitrile), 1W10pts.wt. decomposition accelerator (C) (e.g., ZnO) and 0.1W10pts.wt. α-olefin- modified surfactant (D) of a degree of modification with a 4W20C α-olefin of 20W80% (e.g., α-olefin-modified silicone). This composition is molded into any desired shape and foamed by heating to 150W250°C and this foam is cooled to 50°C or below to set its cell structure. In this way, an open-cellular olefin resin foam is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
