abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R is a group expressed by formula II (R 1 and R 2 are lower alkyl or benzyl) or heterocyclic group, containing N atom and linking through the N atom; n is 1 or 3W8] and hydroquinone derivative thereof. n EXAMPLE: 3-( 6-Methyl-3,4-dimethoxy-2,5-benzoquinolyl )-3-phenyl-1-thiomorpholi no-1-oxopropane. n USE: An improving and treating agent for intracerebral organic disorder and extremely effective against oxygen deficiency state of various cerebral nervous cells. n PREPARATION: 2,3-Dimethoxy-5-methyl-1,4-benzoquione is treated with 10% palladium carbon in a suitable siolvent in hydrogen gas stream and then reacted with α-bromo-γ-acetoxyphenylpropane. The resultant product is then oxidized with ammonium cesium nitratre and Jones reagent to give a compound expressed by formula III, which is then condensed with various amines to provide a compound expressed by formula IV, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
