titleOfInvention Preparation of sheet-shaped molding
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet-shaped molding being light-weight and having excellent strength, heat resistance and sound absorbing quality, by making isocyanate groups excess to hydroxyl groups in a foamable urethane dope. CONSTITUTION:A sheet-shaped raw material is obtained by foam curing molding a foamable urethane dope wherein the ratio of isocyanate groups in polyisocyanate to hydroxyl groups in polyol is 1.3-3.0 times of the ratio of the equivalent amount. This sheet-shaped raw material is compression-molded while being heated or after heating. In this method of preparation, unreacted polyisocyanate remains in the sheet-shaped raw materials after the foam curing molding and this polyisocyanate acts as a lubricant during compression molding. Therefore, formability of the sheet-shaped molding is improved. The unreacted polyisocyanate forms urea bonding or cyanurate bonding by heating and strength and heat resistance of the sheet-shaped molding are thereby improved. Moreover, closed cells in a foam become to interconnecting cells to give excellent sound absorbing quality.
