titleOfInvention Water-soluble high-melting composition
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a water-soluble high-melting composition having a specific melting point and a specific melt viscosity, composed of a product obtained by the dehydration reaction of an alkanoic diacid with a monoalkanolamine and useful as various binders such as binder for slowly acting granular agricultural chemicals. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is composed of a product produced by the dehydration reaction of a 1W12C alkanoic diacid (e.g. adipic acid) with a monoalkanolamine (e.g. monoethanolamine) and/or its neutral salt with a univalent or bivalent metal (e.g. Na, K or Mg). The composition is soluble in water and has a melting point of ≥60°C and a melt viscosity of ≤2,000cPs at a temperature higher than the melting point by 10°C. The composition is resistant to deformation with heat, has high dimensional stability, is easily separable from an object because of high hardness and slipperiness, exhibits low rate of dissolution in spite of its water-solubility, free from stickiness, gives excellent feeling and has excellent workability. Furthermore, it has the advantages of e.g. easy handleability in melting, high adhesivity and excellent coatability. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
