titleOfInvention Filler for bone depleted part and bone gap part
abstract PURPOSE: To form a filler for a bone depleted part and a bone gap part having marked living body compatibility and high compression strength, by curing the filler containing hydroxyapatite and calcium tetraphosphate by an aqueous org. acid solution having specific pH. n CONSTITUTION: Hydroxypatite and calcium tetraphosphate are mixed and an aqueous org. acid solution of pH5 or less is added thereto in a ratio (powder at./liquid wt.) of 0.1W10.0 while the resulting mixture is kneaded to form a filler for a bone depleted part and a bone gap part. Hydroxyapatite [Ca 5 (PO 4 ) 3 OH] is pref. obtained by heat-treatment pref. at 900W1,250°C. Calcium tetraphosphate [Ca 4 (PO 4 ) 2 O] is pref. obtained by a method wherein calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydride (CaHPO 4 .2H 2 O) is at first decomposed into γ-Ca 2 P 2 O 7 at about 500°C at first and γ-Ca 2 P 2 O 7 and calcium carbonate is mixed in a mol. ratio of 1:2 and the resulting mixture is calcined at about 1,000°C and subsequently baked at 1,350°C or more. As the org. acid, citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, phthalic acid, polyacrylic acid or a mixture thereof can be designated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
