titleOfInvention | Production of fiber-reinforced ceramic sintered molded article |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled dense molded article having excellent heat resistance and impact resistance, suitably useful in the field of space airplane industry, by winding inorganic filaments impregnated or coated with an inorganic high polymer (precursor) round a cylindrical substrate by filament winding method and sintering after solidification. n CONSTITUTION: Inorganic filaments such as carbon-, SiC-, Si 3 N 4 -, BN-, ZrO 2 - or ceramic filaments are passed from inorganic filament packages 1aW1d through a filament surface treating bath 2 to carry out surface treatment. The treated filaments are passed through an impregnating bath 3 charged with a solution of an inorganic high polymer (precursor) (e.g. polycarbosilastyrene copolymer) having a main skeleton consisting of bonds such as Si-C, Si-O, Si-N, Al-O and SiO in an N 2 atmosphere, impregnated or coated with the solution, wound through winding bars 4 round a cylindrical substrate (mandrel) 5 by filament winding, dried and heated. After at least the surface the wound material is solidified, the solidified material is removed from the mandrel 5 and burnt at ≥600°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
