abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled controlling agent containing polylysine as an active component, exhibiting excellent controlling effect against tobacco mosaic virus, etc., having high safety and effective in preventing the damage of useful plant with viruses and improving the working efficiency of farming. n CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains polylysine as an active component. Polylysine is a polymer of lysine which is an essential amino acid having 2 amino groups in one molecule. Preferably, the polylysine is an ε-polylysine wherein ε-amino group is condensed with carboxyl group. In addition to the above, an organic acid salt (e.g. acetate) of polylysine or an inorganic acid salt (e.g. hydrochloride, hydrobromide, etc.) of polylysine can be used. The polylysine can be produced by fermentation process comprising e.g. the cultivation of a microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus under an aerobic condition. An aqueous solution of polylysine having a concentration of 10W500ppm is sprayed or coated on a plant to be treated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
