titleOfInvention Plaster composition for bad breath prevention
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition that can suppress bad breath for many hours by using cyclodextrin or its derivative and a shape-retaining base which is soluble in water, flexible, when it absorbs water, and tacky to oral mucosa. n CONSTITUTION: The subject composition contains (A) a shape-retaining base which is soluble in water, flexible, at least when it absorbs water, and sticky to oral mucous membranes, usually a 85/15W15/85 weight ratio mixture of a high polymeric compound which is soluble in water and physiologically inert such as a carboxyvinyl polymer, polyacrylic acid and a softening agent which is compatible with the high polymeric compound, physiologically inert and retains moisture or water such as glycerol or polyethylene glycol and (B) at least one from α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrins and their derivatives such as a cyclodextrin bearing maltose as a side chain. The amount of component B is over 3wt.%, usually 5W50wt.% based on the composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
