abstract PURPOSE: A remedy for hepatopathy containing a 7-fluoroprostacyclin as an active ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: A remedy for hepatopathy obtained by containing a compound expressed by the formula (R 1 is H, 1W10C alkyl or one equivalent cation; R 2 is 1W10C alkyl or 3W6C cycloalkyl), e.g. (7R)-16,17,18,19,20-pentanor-15- cyclopentyl-7-fluoroprostaglandin I 2 sodium salt, etc., as an active ingredient. The remedy is effective in preventing or treating acute or chronic hepatopathy, e.g. toxic hepatopathy, fatty liver, hepatitis, hepatocirrhosis, fulminant hepatitis, hepatic coma, hepatic hypertrophy, obstructive jaundice, etc., and may also be used for protecting hepatic cells in transplanting livers. The remedy is orally or parenterally, e.g. rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intravenously, percutaneously, etc., administered.
