titleOfInvention Novel betamethasone derivative, its production and enzyme immunoassay using the same
abstract NEW MATERIAL:{[11β,16β)-9-Fluoro-11,17,21-trihydroxy-16-methyl-3,20-dioxopre gna-1,4-diene-4-yl]thio}acetic acid. n USE: Hapten for making antibodies, labeled antigen. n PREPARATION: The dihydroxyacetone side chain in the 17 position of betamethasone of formula II is protected in the form of bismethylene dioxide, the product is brominated to give (6β,11β,16β)-6-bromo-9-fluoro-11-hydroxy-16- methyl-17,20,20,21-bis[methylenebis(oxy)pregna-1,4-diene-3-one of formula III. The product is allowed to react with thioglycolic acid to form {[(11β,16β)-9- fluoro-11-hydroxy-16-methyl-17,20,20,21-bis[ methylenebis(oxy)) ]-3-oxopregna-1,4- diene-4-yl]thio}acetic acid. Then, the protecting group in the 17 position is removed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
