titleOfInvention Photochromic compounds
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R 1 WR 12 are H, alkyl, alkoxy, benzyl, aryl, halogen, nitro, alkoxyalkyl, cyano, alkylamino, carboxyl; R 2 , R 3 are unsaturated or saturated hydrocarbon ring, polymerizable or polycondensable substituent]. n EXAMPLE: 1,3,3-Trimethylspiro[4, 6-dimethylindolino-2,3'-[2H]-(6'-methoxybenzo)- (1,4)oxazine]. n USE: Sun glass, window panes, recording materials, fibers, ornaments. It has excel lent durability, because of its oxazine skeleton and the polymerizable compound can be prevented from migration. n PREPARATION: For example, 1,2,3,3,4,6-hexamethylindolenium bromide and 2-nitroso-5-methoxyphenol are refluxed in ethanol in the presence of triethylamine under a stream of nitrogen gas for 2hr to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
