titleOfInvention Production of didehydronucleosides
abstract PURPOSE: To readily obtain the titled compounds useful as an antiviral agent and intermediate for production thereof at a low cost, by converting a compound having a specific skeleton in the molecule into a compound having a specified skeleton and then reacting the resultant compound with an acid anhydride. n CONSTITUTION: A compound having a skeleton expressed by formula I [e.g. a compound expressed by formula II (R 2 is H, acyl, alkyl, aralkyl or silyl; B is purine base linked to a sugar residue at the 9-position, etc.)] in the molecule is converted into a compound having a skeleton expressed by formula III [e.g. a compound expressed by formula IV (R 1 is 1W12C alkyl), etc.], which is then reacted with an acid anhydride, e.g. at 20W200°C, to afford the aimed compound having a skeleton expressed by formula V in the molecule. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
