NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R 1 is (substituted)phenyl; R 2 is (substituted)phenyl, cycloalkyl or nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; Z is O or S; n is 2 or 3] and acid addition salt thereof. n EXAMPLE: 6-(4-Chlorophenyl)-1-phenyl-2-piperidone. n USE: A cerebral activator effective against mental symptoms caused by aging, depression, minimal brain dysfunction syndrome, Parkinson diseases, etc. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II or III (X 1 and X 2 are reactive residue) or salt thereof is subjected to intramolecular cyclizing reaction in the presence or absence of a base (e.g. alkali metal lower alcoholate, pyridine or alkali metal hydride) in a solvent, such as benzene or DMSO, to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
