titleOfInvention Direct positive silver halide photographic emulsion
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled emulsion having the high sensitivity and the low fogging level by incorporating a specified org. desensitizer together with a cyanine dyestuff having a reduction voltage of -0.40--1.50V and an oxidation voltage of +0.55-+1.80V in the titled emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The titled emulsion contains the cyanine dyestuff having the reduction voltage of -0.40--1.50V and the oxidation voltage of +0.55-+1.80V, and at least one of the org. desensitizer shown by formula I. In formulas I, R is alkyl group, at least one of R1-R5 groups is an electron attractive group having Hammett's value sigma of >=0.21, and the remainders of R1-R5 groups are hydrogen atom. or alkyl group, Z is an atomic group necessary for completing a 5 or 6 membered nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic ring, X<-> is an anion. Thus, the titled emulsion having the high sensitivity and the low fogging is obtd.
