titleOfInvention Functional organic thin-film material and manufacture thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title material which has a uniform film thickness and molecular density, provides a stable inclusion capacity, and is useful for a compound sensor having excellent sensitivity and response characteristic, by forming a specified monomolecular or built-up film on a support and reacting a cyclodextrin derivative therewith. n CONSTITUTION: An amphipathic organic molecule (A) (e.g., compounds of formulas IWV) having a group capable of reacting with the reactive group of component B is dissolved in a solvent (B) such as methylene chloride(-ethanol mixture). This solution is applied on a support, such as a glass base plate, or on a film previously formed thereon, thus forming a monomolecular film or a built-up film having said films as the outermost molecular layer. An aqueous solution of a cyclodextrin derivative (C), such as an aminated cyclodextrin, is then brought into contact for reaction with the film thus formed, thus giving the title thin-film material of formula VI [wherein (A-Z) is an amphipathic organic molecule A being its hydrophobic part, Z being its hydrophilic part bound to the reactive group of component C; Rm-CD is component C having m reactive groups R, bound to n units of component A through R; n≤m and m≤8]. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
