abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. which is excellent in dimensional stability, moldability, heat resistance and mechanical strengths after a hot water resistance test and gives molded products having improved brittleness, by blending an arom. polythioether sulfone polymer with a polyphenylene sulfide. n CONSTITUTION: 99W1pt.wt. arom. polythioether sulfone polymer (A) which is a homopolymer composed of a polymn. unit of formula I (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each H or a 1W8C hydrocarbon group; aWb are each 0W4) or a random or block copolymer composed of said unit of formula I and other unit [e.g. formula II (wherein Ar is a group of formula III, IV or V; R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are each R 1 ; cWe are each a; fWg are each 0W3; Y is a single bond, -O-, -SO 2 or a group of formula VI or VII; R is H or a 1W8C hydrocarbon group)] (e.g., arom. polyether sulfone/polythioether sulfone copolymer) is blended with 1W99pts.wt. polyphenylene sulfide (B) composed of at least 70mol.% of a repeating unit of formula III and optionally, an org. reinforcing agent, an inorg. filler and a silane coupling agent (C).
