titleOfInvention | Polyamide-imide |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a polyamide-imide which can be melt-molded, has a high intrinsic viscosity and excels in mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance, by reacting a specified imidedicarboxylic acid (derivative) with 3,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether. n CONSTITUTION: A polyamide-imide mainly consisting of units of formula I (wherein n is 2W12) and having an intrinsic viscosity ≥0.4 is provided. The polyamide-imide of formula I can be produced by reacting an imidedicarboxylic acid of formula II and/or its amide-forming derivative (e.g., alkyl imidedicarboxylate) with 3,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether. Part of the 3,4'- diaminodiphenyl ether may be replaced by other diamines (e.g., p- phenylenediamine). Said polyamide-imide of formula I is useful as an engineering plastic. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
