titleOfInvention Reflection type oxymeter
abstract PURPOSE: To enable measurement at a part void of a pulsating component, by receiving optical pulses from first to sixth light sources reflected on a biological tissue to determine oxygen saturation of hemoglobin and the amount of hemoglobin in blood of the biological tissue. n CONSTITUTION: This reflection type oxymeter is made up of a sensor section 10 and a measurement processing section 20. The sensor section 10 contains first to sixth light sources 11W16, a light receiving element 17 and a preamplifier 18. The light sources 11W16 are driven by the measurement processing section 20 to emit light sequentially with the action of a pulse. Intensity of optical pulses emitted from the light sources is set for a specified level by a setting means and the size thereof from the light sources is judged by a judging means. Based on the results of the judgement, intensity of optical pulse reflected on a biological tissue is computed by a computing means 23 and the amount of hemoglobin and oxygen saturation of the biological tissue are calculated based on a specified function. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
