(b) of formula II (wherein R 5 is H or CH 3 ; R 6 , R 7 and R 8 are each OH, a 1W4C alkoxyl or a 1W8C aliph. hydrocarbon group and at least one of R 6 WR 8 is always a group other than a 1W8C aliph. hydrocarbon group; n is 1W6) (e.g., γ-methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) are heated in a solvent to carry out condensation through dehydration to obtain a polysiloxane-contg. resin (A) which contains a polysiloxane macromonomer having at least two hydroxyl groups and/or alkoxyl groups per molecule and can be dissolved or dispersed in water.
